Middletown Man ID'd in Untimely Death Case: State Police
A deceased man found in the water near Osprey Road in Old Lyme was identified as a 43-year-old Middletown man.

Troopers from Troop F-Westbrook continue to investigate the untimely death of a man found on Osprey Road in Old Lyme.
On Wednesday, Feb. 10, at approximately 5:30 p.m. troopers from Troop F and the Old Lyme Resident Troopers Office responded to Osprey Road for a report of a body located in the water.
“Upon arrival, troopers located a deceased male in the water by the shore,” State Police said in a prepared statement. “The male was removed from the water, and troopers checked for signs of life but none were located.”

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner responded to the scene and will assist with the investigation. The man was identified as 43-year-old Charles Carr, His last known address was 429 High St., in Middletown.
There does not appear to be a criminal aspect to this case, police said.

The OCME will conduct a post-mortem examination to determine cause and manner of death. Detectives from Central District Major Crime were also on scene to assist with the investigation.
