The East Hampton woman charged in February with getting her daughter drunk on margaritas at a Middletown restaurant has pleaded not guilty to one felony count of risk of injury to a minor.

Joann G. LePage, 51, of 9 Barrie Road, is free on $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear next in court on May. She entered her not guilty plea during an appearance Tuesday in Middletown Superior Court. LePage is being represented by a public defender.

LePage was arrested by Middletown police on Feb. 27 at 7:21 p.m., when they were called to Puerto Vallarta, at 200 Main St., (Metro Square Plaza) for a report of an intoxicated 14-year-old girl, who was with her mother.

The victim, police said, indicated her mother had been serving her margaritas with their meals, and a witness who saw the teen confirmed the account. Police sent the girl to Middlesex Hospital for detoxification treatment.
