Pedestrian Fatally Hit By Vehicle On Route 9 In Middletown: State PD

State Police said they need help identifying the pedestrian that died as a result of his injuries.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — A pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle on Route 9 southbound side, state police said Sunday.

A 2010 Toyota Corolla driven by a Haddam resident was traveling southbound on Route 9 prior to exit 10, state police said.

The car stuck a pedestrian prior to exit 10 in the right lane of two, state police said. The pedestrian was transported to Hartford Hospital by Hunter's Ambulance. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at Hartford Hospital. The identity of the pedestrian is unknown at this time, state police said.

The Connecticut State Police Collision Analysis & Reconstruction Squad (CARS) and The Connecticut State Police Major Crime were utilized to assist with this investigation.

This accident remains active and under investigation.

State Police said they need help identifying the pedestrian that succumbed to his injuries.

The following is a description of the pedestrian:

  • White male approximately 5'6" - 5'8"
  • Stocky build, brown eyes, black hair, black/red full facial beard
  • Wearing white National Geographic t-shirt, gray undershirt, blue jeans with black belt, white Nike Air lowtop sneakers
  • No scars/tattoos/marks
