the guest on the next edition of the health-information radio program —
Healthline. Dr. McGrath will discuss the causes and treatment of asthma in
children and adults.
Asthma is an incurable illness
which affects the airways carrying air to and from the lungs. It is one of the
most common long-term childhood diseases but adults can asthma too. Asthma causes
wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness, and coughing at night or early
in the morning. Although the cause is unknown in most cases, genetics is
thought to play a significant role.
