Xavier Captures Fourth Straight State Open Wrestling Team Championship
The Falcons easily cruised to victory by more than 50 points over runner-up Newtown.

NEW HAVEN, CT — On the strength of two champions and eight overall placewinners, the Xavier High School wrestling team cruised to its fourth straight state title Saturday at the Floyd Little Athletic Center.
The Falcons compiled 189.5 points to easily surpass the 137 of runner-up Newtown. East Hartford, Fairfield Warde and Ridgefield rounded out the top five.
Weight class champions for Xavier were Braylon Gonzalez (132 lbs.) and Maximus Morse (175). Runners-up were Zack Dixon (106) and Bradley Ament (113).
