Xavier Places Second At Indoor Track State Open; 2 Falcons Win Events
Two members of the Xavier indoor track squad brought home state championships after capturing individual events at the State Open Saturday.
NEW HAVEN, CT — A pair of senior distance runners from Xavier High School won individual championships at the CIAC boys indoor track State Open Saturday at the Floyd Little Athletic Center.
Owen Martin captured the 1600 meter run, crossing the finish line in 4:19.92. Jack Ouellette claimed the crown in the 3200 meter run, finishing in 9:20.49.
The Falcons compiled 34 points to place second in team competition, trailing the 51 of Lyman Hall, which won the team championship for the first time since 1993.
