2nd-Alarm Fire Damages Commercial Building In Milford: Fire officials

Firefighters responded to the call Tuesday night.

MILFORD, CT — A commercial building in Milford was damaged in a two-alarm fire on Tuesday, according to Fire Capt. Brandon Edo.

Firefighters responded to a report of smoke around 9:40 p.m. Firefighters arrived at 230 Woodmont Road to find "significant smoke" showing from the large, single-story building.

Additional crews from Milford and West Haven were brought in to fight the second-alarm blaze.

All the building's units were unoccupied at the time, according to Edo. No injuries were reported.

It took firefighters 45 minutes to bring the fire under control. Crews remained at the scene for about two hours, Edo said.

The address where the fire broke out is an industrial space, according to Loopnet.com.

The fire was contained to the unit of origin. Other units suffered smoke damage.

The fire caused damage to the interior and roof. The cause of the blaze is under investigation.

Woodmont Road was closed but has since reopened.
