
Eligia H. “Elly” Horan, age 98, of Milford, beloved wife of the late James P. Horan entered into peaceful rest with her daughter by her side on January 12, 2026.
Elly was born on June 5, 1927 in Pfaffenhausen, Germany and was the daughter of the late Josef and Flora (Schafer) Lutzenberger. She was a longtime member of St. Ann Church and member of the 50’s club and the Rosary Society including the German Rosary Society. She enjoyed many trips to Germany and Ireland with her husband to visit with family. Elly was a wonderful cook and known for her torte along with entertaining family and friends. She was a member of Harugari German-American Club. She enjoyed tending to her vegetable and flower gardens. But her most important roll was being a devoted wife and mother.
Elly is survived by her loving and devoted daughter, Elfriede “Elfy” Williams, three nephews and a niece in Germany. She was predeceased by her son-in-law, Ron Williams and her two brothers, Artur Lutzenberger, Karl Lutzenberger and his wife Wally and her sister Elfriede Kaess and her husband, Willy.

Elly’s daughter would like to thank all the caregivers for the years of care for her mom including Nikki who Elly lovingly referred to her as “Curly Hair” and a special thank you to Dion “D” for the excellent care given to Elly over the past two years.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Ann Church (St. Raphael Parish) 501 Naugatuck Avenue, Milford. Family and friends may call (DIRECTLY) from 9:30 –10:00 a.m. prior to the mass. Interment will follow at King’s Highway Cemetery, Milford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
