'Bittersweet': Big Change Underway At Milford Bake Shop

The popular spot has grown considerably over the last 15 years.

MILFORD, CT — Scratch Baking, a downtown Milford business, will change owners, according to a Facebook post from the bake shop.

The 84 Broad St. location has been in business for 15 years.

The owner, Lesli Flick, said that Evan Cassidy will be the new owner, describing the change as "bittersweet."

"First and foremost, it fills my heart that Evan will be owning Scratch," she wrote. "Evan has been our front-of-house employee, our assistant manager, our front-of-house manager, my protégé, and my friend. He is an exceptional, hardworking, dedicated, genuine young man and I can’t wait to see what Scratch becomes under his leadership. Evan, I am so proud of you!"

Scratch Baking grew from a team of two to 24 employees during the last 15 years.

"We became a family and as a family, we will always be," Flick wrote. "Yes, it is time for me to move on. Scratch is ready for its next chapter. I can’t say enough about my wonderful staff. Our team here is exceptional, talented and driven. I love each and every one of them."
