Catherine A. Standley, 94, of Milford, beloved wife of the late Charles Standley, passed away on January 10, 2026. Born on July 18, 1931 in Bridgeport, CT, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Louise Suchy Yankowski.
Catherine lived a simple and generous life, one defined by quiet service and care for others. She found joy in the everyday moments such as tending to her garden and working through word search puzzles.
Catherine volunteered faithfully at Kay Avenue School as a librarian, where her love of books and learning was shared freely with the community. She also expressed her compassion through her hands, crocheting mittens and booties for premature babies in local hospitals and prayer shawls for patients at Yale. Each stitch reflected her kindness, patience, and deep concern for the comfort of others.
