Mary Regina French,81, of Milford CT, beloved wife of the late Robert M. French, Sr., passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on August 14, 2024. She was born in Bridgeport, CT in 1943 to the late Joseph and Mildred Peddle.
Regina was raised in Black Rock, CT where she made lifelong friends and met her future husband Bob at St. Mary’s by the Sea.
Regina and Bob raised their 6 children in Milford. Regina was a devoted parishioner at St. Mary’s Church, where she volunteered actively and never missed a Sunday Mass. Her deep Catholic faith was a cornerstone of her life, one she proudly passed down to her children and grandchildren.
Regina retired from Southern New England Telephone and spent her retirement years cherishing time with her children and grandchildren. Regina never said no to a road trip and enjoyed traveling with her husband and family. She had memorable trips to Alaska, Ireland, Newfoundland, and the Outer Banks. For beach trips she loved visiting Cape Cod, Maine, and Florida.

In addition to her travels, Regina treasured her monthly lunches with friends, cheering for the Yankees, and spending time in New York City shopping and attending plays with her daughters. She was an avid gardener and loved taking long walks on the beach. She passed on her love of nature to her grandchildren with many adventures in Eisenhower, Silver Sands and John Chestnut Park.
She will greatly missed by her family.

Regina is survived by her six children Marianne Johnson, Colleen (Michael) Dupre, Robert (Debra) French Jr., Kathleen (Jon) Walker, Kelly French (Greg), Kevin (Carol) French. She will be greatly missed by her eleven adoring grandchildren Michael, Joseph and Lauren Dupre; Jenna and Ryan French; Julia, Caitlin and Emma Walker; David Johnson, Jr.; and Grace and Delaney French. She is also survived by her sister Geraldine Peddle and brother Joseph (Maribeth) Peddle Jr. And sister -in-law Carol (William) Soracin; and several nieces and nephews, extended family members and friends. She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years Robert and her parents Joseph and Mildred Peddle and her in-laws John and Claire French.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, August 22, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street, Milford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 23, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Mary Church, 70 Gulf St., Milford CT 06460 (MEET DIRECTLY AT CHURCH).
