Milford 2024 Election Results: Winners Revealed In Key Races
The polls have closed in Milford for the 2024 elections, and there are updates in two state representative races.

MILFORD, CT — Shortly after the polls closed Tuesday night, vice President Kamala Harris was announced as the winner of Connecticut's seven electoral college votes, defeating former President Donald J. Trump and three other candidates, according to the Associated Press.
Also, U.S. Sen. Chris Murphy, D-CT, won re-election and a third term in Congress, according to projections. He defeated GOP challenger Matthew M. Corey and two other candidates.
U.S. Rep. Rosa DeLauro, Democrat, was declared the winner over Republican challenger Michael Massey in the 3rd Congressional District, according to The Associated Press.

Democrat MJ Shannon won the 117th District state representative seat, according to Hearst Media. Shannon defeated Republican Raymond Collins III.
Incumbent Democrat Frank Smith has also declared victory in the 118th District state representative seat over Mark Macchio, a Republican challenger, Hearst reported.

Votes are still being counted in other key races.
Original post: MILFORD, CT — The polls have closed, and now we wait for the results to come in through the night and likely into Wednesday morning for several key races.
All eyes, of course, are on the presidential race between main party candidates vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald J. Trump. Beyond the presidential race, U.S. Sen. Chris Murphy, D-CT, is seeking reelection to a new six-year term and is being challenged by Matthew M. Corey, Justin C. Paglino, and Robert Finley Hyde.
Residents also voted for their local representative in the U.S. Congress, and their local state representative and senators in the General Assembly in Hartford.
Tuesday night's vote totals will also determine whether Connecticut will allow each person to vote by absentee ballot in future elections.

For President, the candidates were: Kamala Harris and Tim Walz, Democrat, Donald J. Trump and J.D. Vance, Republican, Jill Stein and Butch Ware, Green Party, Chase Oliver and Mike ter Maat, Libertarian, and Robert Kennedy Jr. and Nicole Shanahan, Petitioning candidate.
For United States Senate, the candidates were: Christopher S. Murphy, Democrat, and Matthew M. Corey, Republican. Murphy is also endorsed by the Working Families Party. Other candidates include: Justin C. Paglino, Green Party, and Robert Finley Hyde, Cheaper Gas Groceries Party.
For U.S. Congress, the candidates were: Rosa DeLauro, Democrat, and Michael Massey, Republican. Massey is also endorsed as an Independent.
For state senator, the candidates were: James Maroney, Democrat, and Steven Johnstone, Republican. Maroney is also endorsed as an Independent.
For state representative, the candidates in the 117th District were MJ Shannon, Democrat, and Raymond V. Collins III, Republican. Shannon was also endorsed as an Independent and by the Working Families Party. In the 118th District, the candidates were Frank Smith, Democrat, and Mark Macchio, Republican. Smith was also endorsed by the Working Families Party. In the 119th District, the candidates were Etan Hirsch, Democrat, and Kathy Kennedy, Republican. Kennedy was also endorsed as an Independent.
For Registrar of Voters the candidates were: Kerri Rowland, Democrat, and Debra Fellenbaum, Republican.
