Milford Man Arrested After Being Clocked At 120 MPH On I-95: CSP

Connecticut State Police said that the suspect told a trooper that he wanted to "open up the car" when he got on I-95.

MADISON, CT — A 22-year-old Milford man was arrested on a reckless driving charge Saturday, after a Connecticut State Police trooper clocked the suspect traveling at 120 mph on I-95 in Madison.

In addition to the reckless driving charge, Dustin Hueffman was additionally charged with passing on the right, after the trooper observed Hueffman "passing other traffic in an unsafe manner, weaving from one lane to another," according to state police.

The incident began at about 12:45 a.m. near exit 63 in Clinton, when the trooper saw a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed southbound on the thruway, and pulled out to catch the car, an Audi A4.

"Once safely positioned behind the observed vehicle, the Trooper began to clock the vehicle's speed and observed speeds reaching up to 120 mph," authorities wrote in a statement. "The Trooper activated their emergency lights and siren to initiate a traffic stop, and the operator complied with the signal to stop. The operator pulled over in the right shoulder near exit 59 in Madison."

After pulling over Hueffman, the trooper asked him why he was driving so fast, and Hueffman said that when he saw an open highway he wanted to "open up the car," according to state police.
