Milford Mom A 'Rockstar' Who Taught Kids To Never Give Up

MILFORD, CT— Moms do so much for everyone around them. We try to celebrate them all year long, but Mother's Day is a perfect opportunity to shout it from the rooftops and post it on Patch: Mom rocks!

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize the awesome moms and mom figures in communities like yours.

What makes your mom extra special?

My mom has shown my two brothers and me what unconditional love is. My mom is a single mother who raised three well-mannered children on her own for most of her life. She has taught us what it means to be strong and to never give up. I would even go as far as saying she is one of the coolest mothers out there. She has always supported everything we wanted to do in our careers — of course with some tough love here and there — but just like mothers can be, she wants the best for her children! My mom rocks!

Why do you feel your mom deserves the spotlight?

Anyone who knows my mom knows she’s a great time to be around, always has a smile on her face, and knows how to make someone laugh. My mom deserves the spotlight (not only today) but every day. My mom worked 40 hours a week all while raising three children by herself (don’t be fooled, she is still working that 40 hour week grind). Of course with the help of her family and amazing friends, she made it work. My mom has always stayed strong (at least that’s what we saw) through some of the toughest times in her life. From losing both of her parents at a young age and a sister from pancreatic cancer, I believe the saying “what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger” is what my mom has proved to us! She’s a rockstar! Happy Mother’s Day Mom!
