Obituary: Raymond John Britting, 88, of Milford

Ray, a skilled craftsman and contractor, served as head of the ordering department at US Motors for many years.

MILFORD, CT - (From Cody-White Funeral Home) Raymond John Britting, 88, of Milford, passed away at home on July 20, 2021, after a long illness.

Born on March 12, 1933, in Derby, he was the son of Lester and Mary “Phyllis” Osrick Britting.

He lived his entire life in Milford, growing up in the Devon section of town and attending grammar school there before graduating from Milford High School.

He attended the University of Miami but returned home after one year due to his father’s early death.

Ray was head of the ordering department at US Motors in Milford for many years. He was a skilled craftsman and eventually left US Motors to start his own business as a remodeling contractor.

A lifelong fan of the Dallas Cowboys, Ray enjoyed watching football, playing golf, swimming, building and fixing things, and spending time with family.

He is survived by his children Allison Britting, Glenn (Laurie) Britting of Londonderry, NH, Leslie (David) Weaver, and Darrin Britting (Alex Dremann) of Philadelphia, PA; grandchildren Zachary and Hannah Kresen, and Madison and Cole Britting, both of Londonderry, NH; a niece, Meaghan Britting of San Rafael, CA. Ray was predeceased by his brother, Kenneth.

A Memorial Service will be celebrated on Thursday, July 29, 2021 at 6:30 p.m. at CODY-WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 107 BROAD STREET., MILFORD, CT.

Interment will be private. Friends and family may call from 4:30 to 6:30.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to Constellation Hospice, 14 Westport Ave., Norwalk, CT 06851.
