MILFORD, CT — As the 2023 municipal elections get closer in Milford, there are plenty of races with candidates who are eager to serve in elected office.

Jeffrey Parkin, 73, is running for a seat on the Board of Aldermen in Milford to represent the 3rd District as a Republican candidate.

Parkin holds a B.S., MSME and JD degrees.
Parkin has worked in several different industries; he’s been a nuclear engineer for 7 years, a corporate attorney for three years and an airline pilot for 28 years.

Parkin’s family includes his three grown children and two grown step-children. All self-sufficient and has eight grandchildren.

No
Have you ever held a public office, whether appointive or elective?
Yes. Elected as Selectman in Kent, CT for 2 terms prior to moving to Milford 3 years ago.

Semi retired and now would like to help steer political discourse instead of objecting to existing actions.

What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
General philosophical differences; I hold conservative views often at odds with democrat policies.
What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?
Cost of living; infrastructure; energy policies to the extent that cities have any authority; private property rights.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
I've had years of experience in industry with expertise in many disciplines relevant to town issues.
What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?
When you work on a project see it through to completion.
