Patch Candidate Profile: Paul Healy, Milford Board of Aldermen
Milford resident Paul Healy tells Patch why he should be elected to the Board of Aldermen to represent the 3rd District.

MILFORD, CT — As the 2023 municipal elections get closer in Milford, there are plenty of races with candidates who are eager to serve in elected office.
Milford Patch asked candidates to answer questions about their campaigns and will publish candidate profiles as Election Day draws near.
Paul J. Healy, 73, is running for a seat on the Board of Aldermen in Milford to represent the 3rd District as a Democratic candidate.

Healy holds an MSBM, BSBM, and ACSJ degree, has gone through the FBI National Police Academy, Connecticut State Police, and Milford Police Academy, and holds a Florida and Connecticut realtor license.
Healy’s occupation is in real estate development.

Healy’s family includes his two sons, Paul Jr. and his wife Dana, and Stephen with his wife Danielle. Healy has four grandsons and one granddaughter.

No
Why are you seeking this office?
My family has a great history of service to Milford. I have the desire and ability to continue this legacy. I have served on St. Ann School Board, Finance Council, Southern CT Youth Hockey Board, Laurel Beach Board of Managers. I'm looking forward to help maintain Milford as a community to be admired.

Economic stability through fiscal responsibility. City services and expenditures should be measured on cost effectiveness and the net benefits delivered to our residents.
What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
The Milford Democratic Party has delivered over a decade of positive financial results across all departments in service to our residents. We shall continue to be results driven through strong fiscal oversight. I have served in executive management positions both in the public and private sectors.
If you are challenging an incumbent, in what way has the current officeholder failed the community?
We are the incumbent party with a super majority based on result driven programs.
What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?
Public Safety services to our residents. Maintaining and supporting advanced training for EMS, Fire, Police and Health Department services for quality-of-life matters in Milford.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
My diverse employment history in public safety, executive management both in private and public sectors.
Retired as Chief Inspector from the Chief State's Attorney's Office. Executive Director of Public Safety, Emergency Management and Campus Operations at Sacred Heart University and senior management positions with SCG - Energy East Corporation, also Family Real Estate Development.
Along with being a volunteer for multiple years in educational, sports and community service organizations.
What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?
Treat people the way you would want your loved ones to be treated. Respect is always an earned commodity, based on personal performance.
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
We all share a collective responsibility for the success of our community, so active participation is the key for making a difference if even in a small way! You never stop learning....
