Train Hits Fallen Tree, One Injured In Milford
A train on the Waterbury line struck a tree that had fallen on the tracks in Milford.

MILFORD, CT — A train struck a tree that had fallen on the tracks in Milford on Monday morning, according to the MTA.
Firefighters arrived at the scene of the accident at 200 Herbert St. around 11:30 a.m., Fire Battalion Chief and Public Information Officer Adam Hansen said. A train traveling from Waterbury to Bridgeport had hit a tree about an hour before.
About 50 passengers were on board and one person suffered minor, non-life-threatening injuries, Hansen said.

The train itself remained intact and on the tracks, but was disabled due to the accident.
MTA maintenance crews removed the tree.

Service on the Waterbury line was interrupted Monday. The MTA tweeted that the 10:03 a.m. train from Waterbury to Bridgeport was delayed "because of a request for medical assistance and a fallen tree on the tracks."
Several trains on the Waterbury line were delayed Monday and some were replaced by bus service due to the tree on the tracks, according to the MTA.
