Gerard Laurent Gingras Sr, 94, passed away peacefully at Orchard Grove Healthcare and Rehab in Uncasville on Saturday, November 19th.

He was born on Aug. 11, 1922 to the late Aristide and Bernadette (Dutilly) Gingras in West Shefford Quebec Canada. He served in the Navy during WWII from 1942 to 1945 as a barber in Saipan. On May 26th, 1943 he was united in marriage to Mary (Allen) in Uncasville, CT. She predeceased him.

After returning from the service, he opened Jerry's Barber Shop at Uncasville four corners where he worked until he retired. He enjoyed cooking, clamming, sailing, writing poetry and talking with folks.

Gerard is survived by his son; Gerard L Gingras Jr and wife Lucylee of VT, daughter; Arlene Melgey of CT, granddaughter; Melissa Melgey of CT and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his wife Mary, he was also predeceased by his brother; Raymond and sisters; Rita, Lucille and Teresa.
