
The cases of two men accused of using a card scheme to cheat Mohegan Sun out of hundreds of thousands of dollars are moving closer to trial, as a judge will consider whether to join their cases.
Judge Arthur C. Hadden will rule on a state motion to consolidate the cases of Leonard Hu and Hung Leung into one proceeding. Hadden will hear arguments on the motion at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at the New London Superior Court.
Hu, 50, and Leung, 63, are each charged with first-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit first-degree larceny, cheating at gambling, and conspiracy to commit cheating at gambling, according to The Bulletin. Bong Louie, 39, and Jian Ng, 40, face the same charges in the alleged scam.

Investigators charge that Hu and Leung won large sums of money by enlisting Louie and Ng to help them cheat at baccarat. Hu won a total of $353,950 between October of 2010 and January of 2011 while Leung won $95,870 between November of 2010 and January of 2011, according to The Day.
Louie and Ng are accused of marking the seven, eight, and nine cards with their thumbnails. Ng told investigators that he was offered $1,000 a night to mark cards, according to The Bulletin.

Louie and Ng’s cases are currently pending before the court. Ng’s next appearance is on Tuesday, while Louie’s next appearance is Wednesday.
