MONTVILLE, CT — The Montville CT Police Department issued a large fire alert Wednesday evening urging people to "avoid the area of Route 163, Maple Ave, and Pequot Road!"
"There is a large fire currently at the scrapyard and there will be a lot of equipment in and out! Please avoid the area to let the crews work this dangerous situation. Smoke can be seen from far away. Air quality will be an issue (in) the area!," police posted.
The Ledyard Fire Company said Tanker 14 is currently operating in Montville for a scrapyard fire.
