Mohegan Sun Arena Named 'World-Class Concert Venue' By Forbes
With the rise of destination concerts, Forbes says the resort casino's venue is "worth a special trip."
MONTVILLE, CT — Mohegan Sun Arena is earning accolades again, as Forbes says the venue is an ideal place "to take in an unforgettable concert experience."
"This casino resort with world-class concert venue is worth a special trip," Forbes Senior Contributor Larry Olmsted writes.
Mohegan Sun's location between Boston and New York City means that the 10,000-seat arena "punches way above its weight class and gets acts who rarely play such small arenas and instead sell out the biggest stadiums," Olmsted writes.

The writer mentions a recent Billy Joel concert he attended there, and notes that seeing Joel at a smaller venue has its perks.
"There was not a bad seat in the house, and it could not be more convenient, taking less than 10 minutes to get from my room to inside the arena, without ever leaving the resort—no shuttle buses, no parking, no bad weather, no waits for car share, no hassles at all," Olmsted writes. "It was even easy to get a cocktail."
