Montville 2023 Election Voter Guide: Candidates, Polling Places

MONTVILLE, CT — On Nov. 7, Montville residents cast their votes for several key municipal positions. Contested races include: Mayor, Town Council, Board of Education, Board of Assessment Appeals, and Zoning Board of Appeals.

Polls in Connecticut are open 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Election Day. You can use the Secretary of State’s website to find your polling place. Voters who are in line by 8 p.m. will be allowed to vote.

Connecticut also allows for Election Day registration at designated centers in each town. People must be registered by 8 p.m. in order to vote using Election Day registration. To receive your absentee ballot, complete and sign an application and return it to your Town Clerk, or you can request an absentee ballot online.

The Democratic candidate is Lenny Bunnell. The Republican candidate is Thomas J. McNally.

Town Council

For Town Council, you will vote for up to seven candidates. The Democratic candidates are Kate Southard, Joe Jaskiewicz, Tim May, Nick Sabilia, and Billy Caron. The Republican candidates are Robert M. Yuchniuk, Frank P. Miceli, Sheelagh R. Lapinski, Alfred J. Mandler, Thomas J. McNally, and Kevin J. Lathrop.

Board of Education

For Board of Education, you will vote for up to four candidates. The Democratic candidates are Carol Burgess and Erika Striebel. The Republican candidates are Gilbert J. Maffeo, Donna J. Funk, and Robert R. Mitchell.

Board of Education (two-year vacancies)

For Board of Education, you will vote for up to two candidates. The Democratic candidate is Bonnie Bacon. The Republican candidate is Lisa Terry.

Board of Assessment Appeals

The Democratic candidate is Jeff Carver. The Republican candidate is Flo Turner.

Zoning Board of Appeals

For Zoning Board of Appeals, you will vote for up to three candidates. The Democratic candidates are Joseph J. Socha, III, Doug Adams, and Richard Gladue. The Republican candidates are Meracus L. Hernandez, Lisa Maffeo, and Michael Butterworth.

Zoning Board of Appeals (two-year vacancy)

The Democratic candidate is John P. Desjardins. The Republican candidate is John M. Plikus.
