Montville Woman Confesses to Stealing Purse: Police
A woman reported a purse stolen from her unlocked car that was parked in front of James laundromat, located at 601 Rt. 32.

Montville CT Police Department reported the following:
On 03/21/16 at 4:30 pm a Victim reported the larceny of her purse from her unlocked vehicle, parked in front of the James laundromat, located at 601 Rt.32. While viewing the surveillance video, SGT. Matthew Northrop observed whom he knew to be Evon Fratus, a 55-year-old Montville resident entering the victim's car and stealing her purse.
Approximately 30 minutes later, Fratus was located at her residence and arrested, without incident by OFF.Daniel Witts.
Fratus subsequently confessed to the crime and is currently being held on a $5,000 cash/surety bond at the York Correctional facility for woman. She was charged with Burglary 3rd and Larceny 6.
The Montville Police Department reminds you to always lock your vehicles when you walk away from them, even if you are parked in your driveway or only walking away from it for a second.
