Montville Police Log, May 29 to June 2

The following arrests were recorded at Connecticut State Police Troop E. An arrest does not constitute a conviction and all are innocent until proven guilty.  

May 29

Herbert Villarini, 23, of 2 Coit Street in Ne London, first-degree criminal trover damage to a motor vehicle, third-degree larceny, driving under suspension, possession of less than four ounces of marijuana, failure to obey stop sign, $15,000 bond. According to the Connecticut State Police, Villarini was stopped by police after failing to stop at the intersection of Moxley Road and Old Colchester Road and found to have a stolen scooter, marijuana, and a suspended license.

May 30

Paul Russack, 29, of 3609 10th Street in Astoria, N.Y., first-degree larceny, $10,000. According to the Connecticut State Police, troopers responded to I-395 South near Exit 79 to find a vehicle that had been stolen in New York and was being tracked by Onstar. The vehicle was stopped and Russack was arrested.

June 1

Michael Pelletier, 50, of Upper High Street in Baltic, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, failure to drive right, driving under suspension, no bond listed. According to the Connecticut State Police, Pelletier was arrested in a DUI stop on Route 32.

Jovan Wilson, 33, of 52 Sunny Hill Drive in Uncasville, illegal possession of a motor vehicle marker plate, improper use of a marker, insurance coverage below minimal requirements, $250 bond. According to the Connecticut State Police, Wilson was arrested after he was found in possession of two different stolen license plates.

June 2

Dalemarie Steffen, 38, of 71 Corning Road in Norwich, simple trespass, $92 bond. According to the Connecticut State Police Casino Licensing and Operations Unit, Steffen was found at the Mohegan Sun Casino after being formally ejected in 2010, 2011, and April of 2013.  


Accidents

At about 4:35 p.m. on May 30, 20-year-old Kevin A. Fratoni of Oakdale was driving a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado north on Route 163 in the area of 1063 Route 163 when he crossed into the oncoming travel lane and partially off the road. The vehicle struck a mailbox and severed a utility pole before colliding with a rock wall. Fratoni was uninjured and arrested on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs


Traffic enforcement

On May 31, Connecticut State Police Troop E conducted speed enforcement with an aircraft. More than 30 infractions were issued for speeding and other violations. Lt. Michael J. Thomas, commanding officer of Troop E, said police will continue to use aircraft in traffic enforcement during the summer.
