Montville School Board Votes To Arm School Guards: Report
The board of education supported a measure to begin arming school security guards.

MONTVILLE, CT — The Board of Education has approved a plan to hire armed security officers at each of Montville's schools, according to The New London Day. A school board official said the move puts the district in line with nearby communities such as Griswold, Putnam, and Old Lyme.
The board voted unanimously to use Montville police officers as school resource officers and to request additional funding. It's anticipated that nine resource officers will patrol the district's five schools.
