New Montville State Trooper Promoted to Sergeant

Sergeant John Miller will serve at Troop E in Montville.

The Connecticut State Police promoted 26 troopers during a ceremony at the State Police Training Academy on Friday, April 1, 2016.

Sgt. John Miller was promoted from Trooper First Class and will serve at Troop E in Montville. A trooper for 10 years, he served at Troop C in Tolland and as resident trooper in Mansfield. He has been awarded one Unit Citation and recognition from Mothers Against Drunk Driving.

Sgt. Miller earned an Associate’s Degree from the University of Phoenix and served 22 years in the U.S. Navy.

Dr. Dora B. Schriro, Commissioner of the Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection, formally promoted the troopers during the event. Gov. Dannel Malloy and Lt. Gov. Nancy Wyman also attended and addressed the promotees.
