Dog Possibly Abandoned In Naugatuck, Animal Control Seek Information

NAUGATUCK, CT — Animal Control is asking for information after a dog was possibly abandoned this week in Naugatuck.

In a Facebook post late Friday morning, Animal Control officials said they "have reason to believe" a female pit bull and boxer mix was abandoned Thursday evening in the area of Bingham Street by a woman in a white sedan car.

The dog is described as "brindle with a white chest" by Animal Control.

Animal Control officials noted the dog is safely secured and with the department, however they are still seeking information.

In an earlier Facebook post prior to the dog being found, Animal Control noted she was "extremely skiddish" and asked residents not to chase or attempt to catch the canine.
