DUI Driver Accused Of Illegal Possession Of A Firearm In Car: Naugatuck PD
He was given a $75,000 bond.
NAUGATUCK, CT — A Naugatuck man, who is accused of driving while under the influence of alcohol, was found to be in illegal possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle, police said.
At 12:43 a.m. Tuesday, police conducted a motor vehicle stop on a Chevy Equinox for speeding on Prospect Street, police said.
The driver, identified as Marcos Guerrero Estevan, 31, was found to be operating without a valid driver’s license, police said. Officers observed signs of intoxication, including bloodshot eyes, an odor of alcohol, and unsteady balance, police said. Field sobriety tests were conducted, during which Estevan refused to comply and was placed under arrest, police added.

"During an inventory of Estevan's vehicle, officers located an unloaded SCCY 9mm handgun in the vehicle," police said in a news release.
Estevan was charged with DUI, speeding, operating without a valid license, and illegal possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle. He was held on a $75,000 bond and appeared at Waterbury Superior Court on December 31, 2024.
