Fire Severely Damages Auto Repair Shop In Naugatuck: FD

Fire officials said the blaze caused severe damage to the building, including a partial roof collapse.

NAUGATUCK, CT — An auto repair shop was severely damaged by a fire that broke out Tuesday night in Naugatuck.

In an email to Patch, Naugatuck Fire Department Chief Ken Hanks said the blaze was reported just before 10 p.m. at a one-story commercial building on Prospect Street.

According to Hanks, flames could be seen through the roof of the building when crews arrived in the area.

The business was closed and unoccupied at the time of the fire, Hanks said. No injuries were reported.

Waterbury, Prospect, Beacon Falls and Middlebury fire departments provided assistance.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, Hanks said.
