Dear Friends and Neighbors -

Coming up next week, you will have an opportunity to have your voice heard about the massive spike we have seen in our electric bills. I’ve continued to hear from constituents throughout Naugatuck about these high costs and it's important that the legislature respond to this important issue. And we need your help.

On Thursday, March 6th at 10:30 a.m., a Public Hearing will take place in Room 1D of the Legislative Office Building before the Energy & Technology Committee. You can view the full agenda by clicking here.

The second bill on the agenda, SB 647 An Act Concerning Protections for Consumer Access to Affordable Electricity, was put forward by Republicans in the House and Senate and would repeal state-mandated fees on electric bills, such as the costs of EV chargers. This is important legislation that I support and would help to reduce our electric bills.

Earlier this year, I also supported a comprehensive six-point plan aimed at reducing your monthly utility bills, both in the short and long term.

I encourage you to use this hearing on March 6 to share how these high energy prices are affecting you, your family, and your business with my colleagues on the Energy & Technology Committee.
If you'd like to participate, please sign up by 3 p.m. on Wednesday, March 5th. To register for in-person testimony, click here. The speaker order will be posted in the evening on March 5th.
