Crash Shuts Down Berlin Turnpike In Newington

NEWINGTON/WETHERSFIELD — A multi-vehicle crash on the Berlin Turnpike late Wednesday morning has resulted in that busy roadway's closure.

According to an alert from the Newington Police Department at about 11:30 a.m., a multi-car accident on the northbound side of the Berlin Turnpike (Route 15), near the Wethersfield town line, has closed the roadway.

Police said the highway is closed to all traffic on both sides.

The Wethersfield Police Department is also assisting in the response, handling the closure of the southbound side of the highway.

Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes of travel to bypass the scene, police said.
