Newington police said the duo confessed to their roles in multiple incidents that night, and they were charged on Tuesday.
According to the NPD, the duo is alleged to have attempted to burglarize a residence in the north end of Newington on Oct. 22, 2025.
"At the time of the incident, the homeowner was inside the residence and, with the assistance of her dog, was able to deter the suspects from entering the home," wrote the NPD in a release. "The suspects fled the area prior to police arrival."

Police said investigating detectives were able to obtain a DNA sample and get fingerprints, fingerprints later identified as belonging to Rivera.
Additionally, members of the NPD Patrol Division were able to identify a second suspect through a review of home surveillance video provided by the homeowner.
Later that same night, the suspects are alleged to have burglarized a local business and stolen a vehicle from the property, police said.
The stolen vehicle was subsequently involved in a shooting incident in the City of Hartford later that day, according to the NPD.
During their investigation, detectives interviewed both suspects and obtained a confession related to the incidents.
