Police said during that incident, Sampel assaulted an adult female living there, with the woman eventually retreating inside the residence.

According to the NPD, Sampel broke into the residence, breaking down the front door.

"There were five protective orders in place stating Sampel was not allowed at the residence," wrote the NPD in a release.

According to police, the adult female and two juveniles were located in the residence, and the adult female was able to call the police.

Sampel then fled the scene in a vehicle, police said, adding "all parties were known to each other and this was not a random act."

Newington police were then able to locate the vehicle across the city line in Hartford, police said.

"Newington officers were able to deploy stop sticks successfully puncturing the front passenger tire," wrote police.

However, Sampel did not stop, leading police in a pursuit through Hartford, where his vehicle was eventually disabled and he was then taken into custody, police said.

Newington police said law enforcement units from Hartford and West Hartford, as well as Connecticut State Police, assisted in the case.

Sampel is facing myriad charges from other incidents in Hartford.
