National Coffee Chain Opens First CT Shop In Newington

NEWINGTON, CT — A New Orleans-based coffee chain opened up its latest location up north in Newington on Wednesday.

PJ’s Coffee opened its 3313 Berlin Turnpike location on Wednesday.

PJ’s Coffee kicked off its grand opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony along with the Newington Chamber of Commerce.

Guests were able to enjoy free small hot and cold brewed coffees, and various sample-sized drinks and bakery items.

For those who couldn't make Wednesday's festivities, there is a second celebration planned for Friday and Saturday, June 6-7, from 3 to 5 p.m.

That will feature more festivities and "New Orleans-style fun" to officially welcome the first PJ's Coffee to Connecticut.

PJ's Coffee has more than 185 stores in the U.S. and abroad, including four international locations.
