Two-Vehicle Crash Slows Route 9 Traffic In Newington

NEWINGTON, CT — Traffic is backed up on Route 9 in Newington Monday afternoon following a two-vehicle crash, according to the state Department of Transportation.

The DOT reports the accident was on Route 9 North between exits 37 and 38, resulting in the closure of the left and center lanes.

The wreck was first reported at 4:15 p.m. and it is still "unknown" when the scene would be cleared.
