Berlin Turnpike Finally Reopens After Vehicle Slams Pole: DOT: UPDATE

NEWINGTON, CT — Traffic was halted on one portion of Route 15 in Newington Thursday morning after a vehicle slammed into a utility pole, according to the state Department of Transportation, but the scene has now been cleared.

The DOT reports the accident happened on Route 15 North (Berlin Turnpike), resulting in the roadway being closed to traffic at Webster Street.

The crash was first reported at 7:22 a.m., and the roadway was finally reopened Thursday afternoon, and it is no longer listed on the DOT's incident report.
