Well-Known Newington Restaurant Is Closing
The owners will continue to operate their other site in Canton.
NEWINGTON, CT β After just three years, a Newington eatery will be closing its doors for good on Friday, July 11.
The owners of the Toasted Oat CafΓ©, which is located at 1100 Main St., Newington, announced Tuesday it is closing at week's end.
CafΓ© officials didn't disclose a specific reason for the closure, but said it was not because of a lack of support.

"With much consideration, weβve made the hard decision to end our time here in Newington," wrote the owners.
"Not from a lack of support from this amazing community, but for other reasons that have made this decision an unfortunate reality."

The restaurant thanked its "amazing customers" and its "hardworking team."
"The last three years would not have been possible without you," wrote the owners.
Toasted Oat specializes in gourmet breakfast and lunch dishes, such as burritos, wraps, sandwiches, along with various drinks and coffee beverages.
The owners' other location in Canton will remain open.
