2 Hospitalized After School Bus, Car Involved In Crash: New London PD
A total of 27 elementary school students were on the bus at the time of the accident, police said.
NEW LONDON, CT — Two people were hospitalized after a car and an occupied school bus were involved in a crash Thursday morning, police said.
At 8:13 a.m. a New London officer came upon a motor vehicle accident that had just occurred in the area of Montauk and Willetts avenues, police said.
"It was determined that a vehicle traveling eastbound on Willetts Ave. traveled into the intersection of Montauk Ave. and collided with the passenger side of an occupied school bus traveling southbound on Montauk Ave.," police said in a news release. "The operator of the vehicle and the operator of the bus suffered minor non-life threatening injuries and were transported to Lawrence and Memorial Hospital for treatment."

A total of 27 students from Nathan Hale Elementary School were on the bus. None of the students were injured, police said. The students were moved onto another bus to complete the transport to the school, police said.
The accident remains under investigation.
