Christmas Comes Early: Hallmark Movie Filming In New London
A Hallmark movie that will premiere during the Christmas season is being shot at the Connecticut College campus.
NEW LONDON, CT — Hallmark Christmas films have long favored Connecticut as a backdrop, and this year is no different. The channel's newest holiday movie is filming on the Connecticut College campus in New London.
Details about the film are under wraps, but "the production will transform the campus into a winter wonderland, complete with festive decorations and holiday cheer," according to a statement.
"We're thrilled to welcome Hallmark to Connecticut College," Amy Dooling, vice president for Strategic Initiatives, said in a statement. "This collaboration is a fantastic opportunity to showcase Conn's stunning beauty and unique character to a national audience. We can't wait to see our campus come alive on screen."

The production team includes Norwich's Andrew Gernhard, who is a producer and owner of Synthetic Cinema International. The Rocky Hill-based company has brought several Hallmark Christmas movies to life, including those filmed in Connecticut.
The locally filmed movie will be shown over the holiday season.

When it does, it will join the many other holiday movies filmed in Connecticut. Last year, it was "Mystic Christmas," which featured soap opera and Broadway stars and was filmed in part at Mystic Aquarium.

Earlier in 2023, filmmakers were in Bethel and New Milford. One of the movies being shot was "Holly Jolly."
Hartford and West Hartford were featured in "The Ghost of Christmas Always," a Hallmark movie shot in 2022.
"Sugar Plum Twist" was shot in Norwich and New London in 2021 and appeared on the Hallmark Channel.
"One Royal Holiday" was filmed in Putnam, Woodstock, and Hartford. The musical, holiday-themed movie premiered on the Hallmark Channel in 2020. "Holiday For Heroes," filmed in several Southeastern Connecticut towns, was released in 2019. In 2018, "Christmas On Honeysuckle Lane" appeared on Hallmark and was shot in Wethersfield.
