DOT Study Looks At Expanding Shore Line East Service: Report

The Department of Transportation is looking into expanding Shore Line East service north to Norwich and east to Westerly, RI.

NEW LONDON, CT — The Department of Transportation is looking into expanding Shore Line East service north to Norwich and east to Westerly, RI, according to WTNH News-8. The Shore Line East Route currently extends from New Haven to New London.

Officials said the extended rail service could help boost the local economy.

Along with extending service, stations may be added in Groton and Stonington.
