Hallmark Christmas Movie Films In New London, Norwich

'Tis the season! Unseasonably early snow is making an appearance for a Christmas production being filmed in CT.

NEW LONDON, CT — A Hallmark Christmas movie is being shot in New London, bringing snow and holiday decorations a little early to the Garde Arts Center in New London. "Sugar Plum Twist," a movie featuring ballet dancers, is set to air on Hallmark in December, The New London Day reported.

Scenes of the movie's version of "The Nutcracker" were performed and shot on the Garde stage earlier this month. The movie will also feature locations in Norwich, including city hall, according to The New London Day.

The movie is being produced by Synthetic Cinema International, which has roots in the state and has made several movies here. Last year, the company filmed "Stalker's Prey 3," which featured locations in Lyme, New London, and Ledyard. Previous installments of the series were also shot in southeastern Connecticut.

Connecticut is a popular location for movies centered around Christmas, especially those appearing on the Hallmark Channel. "Holiday For Heroes," filmed in several Southeastern Connecticut towns, was released in 2019. In 2018, "Christmas On Honeysuckle Lane" appeared on Hallmark and was shot in Wethersfield.
