New London Announces Schedule Change For Trash, Recycling Collection

NEW LONDON, CT — The City of New London released the following statement regarding schedule changes for the upcoming holiday:

"In addition to the city offices being closed Garbage Removal will not be available on Wednesday, June 19th. The garbage pick-up removal will resume on Thursday, June 20th and will continue the rest of the week. Therefore, if you typically have service on Wednesday, it will picked up on Thursday and so on for the rest of the week.

"Please be advised that city buildings will be closed on June 19th, a significant day in our nation's history, in honor of Juneteenth Day in reflecting and recognizing the emancipation of enslaved African Americans. Emergency functions such as our Police Department, Fire Department, and E-911 Dispatchers must report to their assigned duty stations if scheduled to work that day"
