NEW LONDON, CT — Recent death notices from New London County:

Charles “Rusty” Joseph LaPlante Jr., 77, of Niantic started his career at Millstone in the carpenters union and then founded C.LaPlante Building and Remodeling.

Michael Parker Hills, 84, of Niantic, was an engineer at Millstone who traveled extensively after retirement.

William W. Moffett, 75, of Pawcatuck, worked as a carpenter and later founded Moffett Builders.

Geraldine (Krushefsky) Zachas, 74, of Groton, worked in the medical field as an administrative assistant, loved to travel, and had a flair for music.

Barbara Colety Amatruda, 98, of Groton, was a member of the New Haven Bird Club and Woodbridge Democratic Town Committee, and served as Justice of the Peace in Woodbridge.
