NEW LONDON, CT — Police have released information about road work that will impact traffic in New London and Waterford.

The Waterford Police Department posted the following on Facebook:

"As you know some road widening has taken place at Willets Ave and Boston Post Road in Waterford. Well, next week they will be milling and paving. If you go this way daily, you will be impacted! Details below:

"On Tuesday, July 1 and Wednesday, July 2 between 7:00 am and 3:00 pm there will be milling and paving through the intersection of Boston Post Rd (Rte 1) and Willetts Ave. Westbound traffic on Willetts Ave (towards Waterford) in New London will be diverted onto Beckwith Street and to Rte 1. There will be short temporary closures of Boston Post Rd (Rte 1) at the intersection of Willetts Ave that will likely cause significant delays.

"Please try to avoid this area during construction."
