7 Overdoses In Norwalk Within 24 Hours, 2 Of Them Fatal
Crack cocaine laced with an opiate might have led to the overdoses.

NORWALK, CT — Police in Norwalk responded to seven overdose calls over a period of 24 hours, three of those calls within a one hour span Saturday morning, and two of the overdose victims have died while five others have been hospitalized.
According to police, between 8 - 9 a.m. July 22, police responded to three drug overdoses. The first call was on Quaker Road, the second on Suncrest Road and the third was reported on Perry Avenue.
Two of the victims have died and a third is hospitalized, police said. Detectives are investigating the cases and the medical examiner is assisting with the death investigations. Police later said they responded to a fourth overdose call at around 1:40 p.m. at the Garden Park Motel on Westport Avenue.

The overdose victim was found in a room and taken to Norwalk Hospital where he remains hospitalized. Police responded to a fifth overdose call at an address on Arch Street. The person was taken to the hospital.
Police responded to two additional overdose calls just after 1 a.m. Sunday.

Police are waiting on lab results to determine the contents of the drugs involved but a preliminary investigation suggests crack cocaine laced with an opiate might have led to the overdoses. There have been 11 overdoses in Norwalk in July with seven of those overdoses happening in the past 24 hours.

Anonymous Internet tips can be sent via the Norwalk police website and text tips can be submitted by typing "NPD" into the text field, followed by the message, and sending it to CRIMES (274637).
