Commercial Building Damaged In Norwalk Fire, Officials Say

NORWALK, CT — Norwalk firefighters responded to a building fire on Friday at 10:36 PM. The incident occurred at 83 East Ave., a three-story commercial office building.
Initial reports indicated an activated fire alarm, prompting the dispatch of one engine company and one ladder company.
Upon arrival, fire personnel observed smoke within the building. This led to an upgrade of the assignment to a first alarm. The increased response brought two additional engine companies, another ladder company, a rescue company, and the shift commander to the scene.

Firefighters quickly located the fire on the first floor. It was confined to a physical therapy office and was extinguished within 35 minutes. Smoke damage was limited to the floor where the fire originated. No injuries were reported to either firefighters or civilians during the incident.
