Man Found Dead After Fire In Jewett City Gas Station: Reports

JEWETT CITY, CT — A man was found dead in a Jewett City gas station bathroom after a fire broke out at the station Wednesday morning, multiple news outlets have reported.

NBC Connecticut reported that the man was burnt in a fire that began at around 11:15 a.m. at the Chucky's Mobil gas station (7 Main St., Griswold).

The fire was contained to the restroom, Connecticut State Police said, as reported by WINY Radio. Responding fire personnel extinguished it, the radio station reported.

The man's identity has not been released.

State police said the Connecticut State Police Fire & Explosion Investigation Unit and the Eastern District Major Crime Unit are investigating, WFSB reported.
