Norwich Public Utilities puts $500K into affordable housing upgrades (norwichbulletin.com) — Norwich Public Utilities is putting $500,000 into upgrades at three affordable housing properties in Norwich, improving roofs, boilers, windows, HVAC, and kitchens for 58 units that house up to 115 residents. Work will happen while tenants remain in place, and the funding continues a long-running partnership with Eastern Connecticut Housing Opportunities to expand safe, energy-efficient housing for low-income families.
   

2. Global City Norwich launches Project PEACE Impact Fund (norwichbulletin.com) — Norwich organizations can now apply for $5,000 to $30,000 through Global City Norwich’s new Project PEACE Impact Fund to boost public safety, family support, and opportunities for youth and adults. Open to nonprofits, schools, faith groups and agencies, proposals are due Jan. 15, 2026, with programs serving Norwich residents and running through June 30, 2026.

Here are the Norwich-area girls basketball players to watch in 2025-26 (norwichbulletin.com) — Norwich girls’ basketball fans get an early look at how NFA and Norwich Tech are reshaping their rosters and coaching staffs for the new season. 4. Norwich man charged with reckless driving after crash in Orange (wtnh.com) — A man from Norwich has been charged after police say he sped past an Orange cruiser on Route 34 and soon crashed into trees, though no one was hurt. The 24-year-old now faces reckless driving and related charges, with a court date set in Derby.
