Man Stabbed In Norwich; Investigation Ongoing: PD (patch.com) — Norwich police are investigating a targeted stabbing that occurred Tuesday evening on Franklin Street, where a man suffered minor puncture wounds and was treated at Backus Hospital before being released. Authorities say there is no ongoing danger to the public and are asking anyone with information about the incident near 340 Franklin St. to contact the detective handling the case.
   

2. Norwich mayor's office launches online dashboard for residents (norwichbulletin.com) — Norwich residents now have a one-stop “Mayor’s Dashboard” on the city website to request proclamations, recognition certificates, meetings with the mayor, and more. Accessible via norwichct.gov under the Government tab, the page will also host updates on city progress and new mayoral initiatives, with contact information for anyone needing help with the forms.
   

3. Yale New Haven Health to close Norwich heart and vascular center (theday.com) — Yale New Haven Health is closing its Heart and Vascular Center in Norwich on Feb. 27, shifting patients and many physicians to a larger Old Saybrook facility and other regional offices. Norwich patients are being contacted about new locations for their cardiology care, with the company saying larger centers offer more services and appointment options.
   

4. 1 Norwich Resident Killed, 2 Injured In New Jersey Crash: Police (patch.com) — A Norwich woman was killed and two other Norwich residents, including a two-year-old child, were injured in a head-on crash on I-80 in New Jersey early Monday, according to state police. Investigators say a wrong-way driver struck their SUV, and the crash remains under investigation.
   

5. Man Accused Of Pepper Spraying Dog During Home Delivery In Montville: PD (patch.com) — A 20-year-old Norwich resident has been charged after police say a dog was pepper sprayed during a delivery to a Montville home, with the animal now reported to be in good condition. The man was released on bond and is scheduled to appear in Norwich Superior Court on January 15, a date local residents may want to note.
